IMED Final Video
https://vimeo.com/125249153
The purpose of our video was to give study tips to future RCHS students. My part was to help find pictures and put them into a video. The hardest part was finding suitable pictures for our video, and the easiest part was putting them together into a video.

Senior Farewell Project
The people in my group are Sam, Adham, and Paulak. We are planning to create a video with text, images, and music. We will give tips to future students, and have images corresponding to those tips.
We will all draft tips, and then put them together into a video. I will put the pictures together into a movie.

Capstone Presentation
I do not have a picture of my booth, but I had a trifold with my poster on it, along with printed PowerPoint slides detailing the problem, solution, and the results of the end product. I did not have a computer that showcased my website, rather, I had a working model of my end product.
The hardest part was probably putting together the display, and the most fun part was presenting to the judges. My overall experience was good, however, I feel that the judging process could be a bit more streamlined, as it took over 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete judging - most of that time was spent by the judges looking for the students which they were chosen to judge.

Capstone Presentation Assets
I plan on having my infographic, as well as a tri-fold board with statistics and information detailing the purpose of my project, and a physical model showing off my end product.
I think that the combination of a tri-fold board and a physical model will be enough to make my capstone project stand out from the other projects, but for extra measure I plan to have a table cover and to make my capstone project tri-fold stand out as much as possible.

Infographic Poster
My infographic required a lot of research. I had many statistics to back up my claims, as well as to inform the viewer as to how much energy, both renewable and nonrenewable, the US uses. The easiest part was doing the research and collecting the facts, while the most difficult aspect was designing the actual poster.
I created my poster this term. I started from scratch, and did all my research and design in a couple of days.

Infographic Design
Idea- I have quite a few ideas for the layout and design for my capstone picture, and I have decided that my poster will focus on the energy we can save by recovering waste heat, and the multiple technologies that exist to recover that waste heat. I am planning to use a orange, red, and white color scheme, as my project deals with energy.
Skeleton:
-Global Energy Consumption (organized by country)

-Amount of energy that is "wasted" in terms of heat:

-Ways to recover the wasted heat
- heat pumps
- heat exchange systems
- thermoelectric generators
- piezoelectric generators

Infographic
My info-graphic will focus on the world's energy use in comparison to the energy use of the United States. I will also present some statistics showing how much energy can be saved by recovering waste heat, how much harmful emissions the United States alone gives off, and what we can do to help decrease these emissions and improve air quality.

PSA for Capstone Project Concept
I addressed the statement of intent in my PSA by researching and providing information about my project. I used photos illustrating the problem in my capstone. I met all the requirements.
The easiest part was putting the video together, while the hardest part was finding the information and photos needed for the video. What I would do differently is that I would find more information and make my PSA longer.

Public Service Announcements
I found the PDF describing how to make an effective Public Service Announcement (PSA) very helpful. It started from the top, describing what exactly a PSA is, and why the PSA should matter to the viewers. It also stated that while PSAs are, in a sense, trying to inform the public about a specific situation, viewers see it as nothing more than just another advertisement. Because of it, the PDF stated that it is important to capture the viewers' attention, to keep it, and to inform the viewers why the circumstance is relevant to them.
PSA 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RUYkzJio24
I found this PSA very helpful an an example. This PSA uses the image of hungry children to grab the viewers attention as well as create a sense of urgency. Though the children depicted are obviously sad, the background music provides a sense of hope that with the help of the viewers, this problem could be solved. It also touches upon how many children go without eating in our own country. It points out how wasteful we are considering we are "a land of plenty", yet there are still starving children.
PSA 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIa4NkQXm8Y
The aspect that intrigued me most about this PSA was that not only was a completely plausible situation shown, but situations like this are not uncommon. Once the PSA reached its most tense point, that was when the message was shown.
The key points I will emphasize in my PSA are the high rates of pollution, harm to the environment, and the fact that nonrenewable energy sources will soon run out. I will used a text based PSA, similar to the example we used in class.
Outline:
-Introduction, explaining why finding a renewable energy source is needed
-Facts on global warming
-The availability of solar thermal energy
-Proposed solutions

Capstone Project Statement of Intent
a) The goal of this project is to determine whether nanotechnology is a viable solution to combating medical diseases such as cancer, and if so, to narrow the scope of which nanoparticles are most effective.
b) Humankind has always dealt with sickness and disease, and nanotechnology is a new and upcoming technology that allows us to treat these diseases with a high rate of effectiveness and specific targeting,
c) I plan to have a career in the health sciences, possibly in research, and this project almost directly connects with my career objectives: to better the human condition.
d) By reviewing the effectiveness of the application of nanotechnology is the medical field and determining whether it is applicable, it is possible to increase the general health and quality of life for humans,
